In the warm tropical climates near the equator, the smells are accentuated, ripe. None however, is more potent or less appealing than Indonesia's favourite fruit - durian. I had given wide berth to the vendors of the "king of fruits" up until this point, the stench keeping me as far away as possible but I decided that I should gather my courage and give it a try.
