ART OF THE JOURNEY

Byron Bay Lighthouse

Posted on April 21 2016

Perched 100 meters above sea level on the most easterly point of Australia, sits the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Both protector and icon, the lighthouse is the most powerful of its kind on the entire continent and also an excellent view point of the area (including whale watching if you go at the right time of the year) - this is definitely a place worth visiting!

The path to the lighthouse is just up from the gorgeous Wategos Beach and we easily made it up but unfortunately it was too late to see inside though the view of the coast line more than made up for it. We decided to take the path less travelled on the way down and followed the winding Cape Byron Loop Walk where we were treated to a brilliant setting of the sun over Byron.
