After trekking through the countryside of Nepal, we arrived in Kathmandu to a new pace of life. It's noisy, dusty, smelly, full of hustle and bustle... and we love it! We cruise the back streets behind Durbar Square which unfortunately was heavily damaged after the earthquake, and admire the spectacular architecture that vividly showcases the skills of the Newar artists and craftsmen over several centuries. We snacked on local snacks like samosa chaat and momos in a pickle sauce and wander blissfully aimlessly into the afternoon.
