Gurney Drive Hawkers Centre

Down by the waterside lies the well known Gurney Drive Hawker Centre which has been around since the early 1970's. We're only in town for a short time and the thought of missing out on trying the much raved about food is too much to bare.

The Gurney Drive Hawker Centre has most delicacies one should try from Penang: Char kwey chow (stir fried wide rice noodles), assam laksa (noodles in a fish-based sour broth), ais kacang (a shaved ice dessert), ais cendol (a coconut milkbased shaved ice dessert), and rojak (a local salad slathered in peanut sauce) - thus making it your one stop sample spot. Wham!
